Our International Main Civil Contracting client has a new requirement for a well experienced Technical Engineer to join their team in Abu Dhabi to work on a heritage project in the Emirate. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Technical Engineer on heritage structural conservation projects with deep understanding of concrete repair methods and cathodic protection systems. Preference will be given to profiles with a proven track record of working in recognised main contractor companies in the UAE previously.
This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent opportunity employed by our client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the technical aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Collaborating with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project specifications are met.
- Reviewing project plans and blueprints to identify potential issues and make recommendations for improvements.
- Conducting regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve any technical issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Managing and maintaining project documentation, including drawings, contracts, and change orders.
- Coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Assisting in the preparation of project budgets and cost estimates.
- Providing technical support and guidance to project teams, including resolving any technical problems that arise during construction.
- Keeping up-to-date with industry best practices and new technologies to enhance project efficiency and quality.
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure project success.
Requirements:
Technical Engineer (Concrete) Experience:
- Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 5 years in civil construction, ideally at least 2 years previous experience in a recognised UAE main contractor company.
- Experience in concrete repair methods and cathodic protection systems is essential
- Prior experience of working on heritage structural conservation projects would be highly advantageous
- Adaptability, ability to work under pressure, accepting to change, managing change at work.
Salary:
AED 12,000 to 18,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances
